Itinerary
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, a driver guide from Ekibungo Safaris will greet you. After a brief introduction and orientation, you will start your journey southwest to Bwindi, known as the Gorillas, here, you will check in to the lodge. The drive will take you through picturesque views of rolling hills, cultivated fields, and traditional Ugandan and Rwandan villages.
There will be a stop at the Uganda Equator for some photos and a short break before you continue.
Tracking gorillas is an unforgettable experience that can last between three to eight hours, depending on the gorillas' movements.
You will need to bring a packed lunch, sufficient drinking water, rain gear, long-sleeved shirts, and sturdy hiking shoes. Once you meet the gorilla family, you will have one hour to observe them up close.
Experience the strength of silverbacks, the playfulness of juveniles, and the care of mothers in a serene, personal environment. After the gorilla trek, you will return to Lake Bunyonyi for the night.
After your wonderful trek you will graduate and get ready for set off to Bunyonyi. You will start your journey southwest to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the most beautiful lake in Uganda, featuring around 29 islands that are safe for swimming. The drive will take you through picturesque views of rolling hills, cultivated fields, and traditional Ugandan and Rwandan villages.
On arrival, check-in at the lodge, dinner and overnight stay
After breakfast in the morning, you can choose to do an optional boat cruise at the lake otherwise you will be transferred back to the Airport or your hotel. You can choose to end your trip in either Rwanda or Uganda based on your preference.
Note: The journey from Kigali to Bwindi is significantly shorter than the drive to Entebbe. Domestic flights are also available
