Day 1: Pick up and an Optional City Tour in Kampala

You will reach Entebbe International Airport. Once you arrive, your driver-guide will meet you and take you to your place to stay for the night.

If you arrive early, you can choose to go on short city tours and see some interesting sites, such as the Uganda National Mosque, local markets, the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, and the national museum.

Day 02 :
Day 2: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park Boat Cruise in the Afternoon

You will be picked up from your hotel and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way, you will pass the equator monument in the Mpigi district, where you can take photos and meet local craft shop owners. Continuing through Mbarara town, you will finally reach Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will arrive in the early afternoon, allowing time for some rest and lunch before heading out for an afternoon boat trip on Kazinga Channel. This area is known as the world’s capital for hippos and crocodiles, along with other animals that come to drink in the afternoons, such as buffalo, monitor lizards, elephants, antelopes, and various bird species.

After lunch, you will embark on a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, which links Lake George and Lake Edward. You will be amazed by the large number of hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, among other wildlife. Additionally, you will see a wide variety of birds along the shores of the channel. After the trip, you will return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night at your accommodation.

Day 03 :
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You'll be up early and have your breakfast. You'll proceed for an adventurous chimpanzee trekking experience in Kyambura Gorge.

The first task is to go down 200 meters to the river in the valley. Chimps are very vocal, and their location can be identified by following their hoots and distant cries. In case they are quiet, their footprints (in mud) and poop can help you to locate them.

Once you locate them, you will be able to watch them play, breastfeed, mate, rest, and even fight. The chimps in Kyambura Gorge have a remarkable habit of getting down from the trees each time they see visitors.

This allows for great photos from a close distance. Apart from the chimpanzees, hiking down the gorge exposes visitors to unique and amazing biodiversity.

Visitors will have an opportunity to spot rare vegetation and tall tropical trees. This activity takes between 2 to 3 hours. After this experience, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through the southern exit.

Day 04 :
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Tour

Gorilla trekking begins early at 8:00 am with a brief orientation at the park headquarters led by a local ranger guide.

At the ranger station, you will be split into groups of eight trekkers, which is the maximum number allowed to visit a gorilla family each day.

The trekking can last from 1 to 6 hours through the dense forest, depending on how the apes move or how fast the trekkers go. You will have one unforgettable hour observing these apes as they go about their daily activities while you learn about them. In the evening, after some time to relax, you will visit the Batwa community.

This community consists of the forest pygmies who were the original inhabitants of the impenetrable forest before being relocated outside the park. You will enjoy traditional performances and have personal interactions with the local people. Later, you will return to the lodge to get ready for your departure the next day.

Day 05 :
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala (Your hotel)

You will have breakfast, check out from the lodge, and begin your drive to Kampala. This will conclude your three-day adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The trip offers stunning views of the Kigezi Highlands and the rich greenery along the route.
